Mission Statement

While the Court and the Black Rock City Department of Name Calling, Issuance, and Revocation recognizes that what happens on the Playa stays on the Playa, it also acknowledges that sometimes what happens on the Playa is kinda fucked up. With that stated, the Court is provided as a service to Black Rock City residents to redress the unfortunate eventuality of an unwanted Playa Name. It is our mission, therefore, to accomodate all Playa residents in need (according to availability) the opportunity to separate from an existing Playa Name Relationship (according to the Court's whim) in the most humane and respectful manner possible (depending on how slow the day is going so far).

Playa Name Orphanage

Our will-kill shelter has names that are desperately searching for a new Burner. All unadopted names will find their lonely peace in the temple on burn night.
